Official presentation by famous international model Mark Vanderloo, as the ambassador of the Andorra Sotheby’s International Realty brand
13/04/2016

A resident of the Principality of Andorra for the past 4 years, Mark Vanderloo is the new image of our brand and a reference in Europe in terms of his high esteem for the qualities of living in Andorra.

The Sport Hotel Village in Soldeu was the chosen backdrop for the event, where friends, clients and the country’s public figures and authorities enjoyed the company of Mark Vanderloo, as did the entire Andorra Sotheby’s International Realty team.

A citizen of the world
Though he was born in the Netherlands, he and his family moved to Kenya when he was just 3 years old. His profession as an international model would mould him into a tireless traveller, bringing him to live in places such as New York and Milan. As Mark himself says, “Another very important aspect of this profession is that it has forced me to really enjoy travelling, which is essential for my work.”

The quintessential top model of a unique decade
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, in ‘90s, he was the male model that burst into a world dominated by female stereotypes. He became the image of brands such as Hugo Boss, Armani, Calvin Klein, Versace, Valentino and Donna Karan. He was also the star of advertising campaigns for Peugeot, Banana Republic, Trussardi and Guess, among others. If that were not enough, his CV additionally includes his work as an actor, a professional vein that brought him to take part in Woody Allen’s “Celebrity”, as well as in “The Tale of a Fairy”, a short film made by designer Karl Lagerfeld.

In love with the Principality of Andorra
Throughout the evening, Mark Vanderloo spoke with guests and the mass media, underscoring the climate, gastronomy and safety of Andorra, along with other qualities that make this a highly competitive place to set up residence. He also mentioned: “I had always wanted to have a chalet somewhere at the foot of the ski slopes, but I thought it would be really boring after skiing. When I discovered Andorra, I saw that it was a completely different world. You’ve got 220 kilometres of ski slopes, and if you want, there are still others nearby. Here you have a more complete deal with beautiful stone houses, the skiing, the climate, the peace and quiet and the safety. And the skiing here is great.”
The presentation was attended by the Minister of Tourism of the Government of Andorra, Francesc Camp, the Director of Tourism, Enrique Torres, and the Director of the Data Protection Agency, Joan Crespo, as well as a large number of businesspeople from the country, friends and clients of Andorra Sotheby’s International Realty.
The Andorra Sotheby’s International Realty management team extends its gratitude to the Grupo Bomar for its collaboration, with its line of Taittinger champagnes, to the Sport Hotel Village 4* and to the restaurant “El Molí dels Fanals”, which made the evening a total success. Special thanks also go out to all the guests who attended the event and to the mass media.
